Florida State football is gearing up for a significant finish to June, aiming to elevate their 38th-ranked recruiting class to something remarkable. The team hasn’t secured a commitment since January when four-star defensive end Javion Hilson withdrew his commitment from Alabama.
Nonetheless, the coaching staff isn’t relenting. Recruiting involves constant adaptation, with teenagers making crucial decisions. Florida State is preparing for summer visits, focusing on the weekend of June 21st when many prospects will be on campus, including all four commitments.
Offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Alex Atkins is recognized as one of the staff’s top recruiters, connecting well with young prospects by highlighting areas for improvement. Unlike some coaches who only accentuate a recruit’s strengths, Atkins isn’t hesitant to address weaknesses and discuss how coaching can enhance their game.
Looking ahead to the final recruiting weekend of June, Atkins will be fully engaged, with five uncommitted prospects scheduled to visit, including five-star offensive tackle Ty Haywood, five-star offensive tackle Josh Petty, four-star interior offensive lineman Peyton Joseph, four-star offensive tackle Ziyare Addison, and four-star interior offensive lineman Dontrell Glover.
Among these prospects, Joseph and Glover seem to be leaning towards Florida State, with Addison also worth monitoring closely. Overall, Atkins appears to have favorable momentum in this recruiting cycle, and it’s now time to seal the deal with these potential recruits.
